This site is powered by WordPress, and it’s also our CMS of choice. We believe WordPress is the best system to run a website for any small to medium size client business. We’ve even presented 10 Reasons You Should Use WordPress to the Brisbane Web Design meetup group, but here I’ll go through why I recommend it for you.

- WordPress’s live preview, continuously updated as you write and save, shows you what most readers will see, and allows you to revise for better copy-fit.
- Respects web and typographic standards
- You can write in HTML knowing that it won’t be messed up, or write in text knowing it will get converted to standards-compliant XHTML, complete with typographically correct punctuation. Relatively Low Maintenance All website’s should have a close eye kept on what’s going on under the hood – especially from a security point of view. WordPress is well known for addressing updates
Yes, WordPress is open source. Yes, WordPress is free. Yes, WordPress is popular (used by 14.0% of the top 1,000,000 websites). But these are not the main reasons we choose it.
WordPress is our CMS of choice because no other CMS we’ve experienced is as enjoyable and easy to work with. WordPress allows you to concentrate on content, instead of worrying about the mechanics of production.
This isn’t to say that other popular competing products aren’t as good – we’ve tried all of them – it’s just that WordPress works for us. If you prefer another CMS, awesome!
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Ok, so nothing’s perfect – not even WordPress. There is no real ‘one size fits all’ for the internet, and the only thing we don’t use WordPress for is large scale ecommerce web sites that require advance product and attribute management, detailed shipping and sales reporting etc. For that we recommend Magento.
