The Brisbane Web Design group formed in November 2006, set up by Ben Maden from
Matter Solutions and I’m happy to say I’ve been involved since the first meeting. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with other creatives within Brisbane’s community, and what a creative community it is! In my view Brisbane is one of Australia’s most creative cities – There’s a great mix of people that attend the meetings from coders (PHP etc) to illustrators to online marketers (SEO) to ‘newbies’.
But what’s in it for you? you say…
Ask not what your country can do for you, Ask what you can do for your country – John F. Kennedy
But ok, here’s a few things you can get expect by coming along to the meetings:
- Network with other Brisbane creatives
- Ask questions to the group and get answers (or at least opinions).
- Expand your skill set and learn how to improve your site design
- and more!
Becoming a member is free and I highly encourage anyone who has a creative/IT passion to come along at least once. In general, the group meets up once a month on at Thursday. A talk on a preplanned subject is presented by one of the members with a lot of informal discussion all the way through. Afterwards we’ll head over to the local bar and keep chatting over a pint or two.
