Palatino Arabic is the result of collaboration between Nadine Chahine and Prof. Hermann Zapf. Palatino Arabic is also a winner, as awarded by the annual Type Directors Club (TDC2) contest.
Ok, I don’t know one word of Arabic, so I have no idea what the Palatino Arabic type poster says – (Anyone know the translation for ‘Quick brown fox..’ ?) – but it doesn’t matter. The font is just beautiful. The negative space, kerning and weight are just spot on. If only I had an Arabic job to use this font!

I guess we should show some love for the other winning font entries too. My other favourites are Logo Jr Black, Mommie and special mention to Restraint for the most elaborate type display I’ve ever seen.
This face is an extension of Zapf’s Al-Ahram Arabic type from 1956 recreated to join the Palatino nova family. Hermann Zapf
